Wii Fit
Video Game
Link: Nintendo
Leo still feels that the Wii is not for serious gamers but not a bad idea for casual gamers like Jennifer, or as a fun family or social game.
Butter And Eggs Parade
Leo is going to suggest to the Committee a Wii Fit Brigade float.
Wining the Lottery
Leo searches desperately under his desk for a letter and manages to find a letter from Dennis Payot, Senior from Glide, Oregon. Dennis has bookmarked many gadgets, and one day, when he wins the lottery, he will get round to buying them. Dick and Leo wonders if Ludwik has a running total of the costs of buying all the DGW gadgets.
Dennis thanks Leo for his TTTT recommendation of the CCrane Wifi Internet Radio in Episode 712. His wife works in the Far East and after work she can listen to radio stations from her home country, while he listens to hockey games from Canada. And as long as the TWiT Network is there, in the famous words of Dick, "I'll be here."
Leo's Mexican cleaning lady is not so impressed, though, as Leo has yet to find a radio station she likes.
Wifi Radio for Mama Laporte
Leo finally decided to choose the CCrane Wifi Radio for Mama Laporte (see Episode 747), who can now listen to the audio feed from TWiTLive. Leo listens to BBC Radio 3 a lot, and wakes up to Ancient FM.

Seal Shield Silver Seal Keyboard
Dishwasher-Safe Keyboard
Link: Silver Shield
Now finally there is a consumer keyboard designed to solve that problem. At CES this year, Seal Shield exhibited their line of Silver Seal Keyboards which are waterproof, spill-proof, dishwasher-safe and antimicrobial. The surface of the keyboards is coated with "Silver Seal" which uses silver ions embedded in high grade plastic to create an antimicrobial solution that inhibits or slows down microbial and bacterial growth. When the keyboards get dirty, they are can be fully submerged in a sink of sudsy water, or put into the dishwasher, for a thorough cleaning. They come with a "Seal Cap" which protects the USB connector during cleaning. Dick was given a sample which survived his modest dishwasher.
Dick and Leo think this is a great product, even though the name "Seal Shield Silver Seal" is a bit of a tongue-twister. Also available are dishwasher-safe mice and universal remotes. Leo is going to get a numer of these keyboards for the TWiT Cottage, and perhaps a dishwasher too.
Another Glowing Keyboard for Dick
Dick warns Leo that before he orders his keyboards, he should know that a new glowing backlit model is coming from Seal Shield. It's the Silver Flex, also dishwasher-safe and anti-microbial.
In Defence of the Cell-Mate
Kevin Selle boldly goes where no one wants to tread. He is standing up for the Cell-Mate (Episode 744), and encouraging the company to forge ahead. Why stop with the cellphone? Who could argue against the benefit of a giant velcro patch on your head and attaching stuff on to your head so you won't lose it again? Keys-Mate, Spork-Mate, Flashlight-Mate, Passport-Mate (hello, Jennifer), Purse-Mate (goodbye to the Purseguard, Episode 406) come to mind. Just don't try it with the UroClub (Episode 598).

Back from France

Ten Questions from Dr Mark
Dr Mark Sukoenig put in 10 questions for Leo. What does an A battery look like? Why do Dick and Leo sound as energetic on the Friday show as they do on the Monday show? What is a Luma and how safe is it to pet one?

WTHII 0811
The November '08 WTHII gadget is the Tube Press, for squeezing the last drop of toohtpaste out of the tube. It turned out that Walgreens started doing a promotion of the item after Dick posted the picture for the contest, and lots of people got the correct answer.
Dick started the What The Heck Is It game before the Daily Giz Wiz, probably at the time of The Screen Savers. Check out the Dec '08 WTHII gadget, which is a listener contribution, which stumped Dick.

1000 Episodes
Avid listener FreeBSD loves DGW, congratulates Dick and Leo on the successful podcast, and hopes it goes on to 1000 episodes. He also has a story to tell which would go well with the Scala Rider Teamset episode (Episode 369), about teenagers text messaging while driving. He was sitting in Starbucks in Kingston, Ontario, when he heard a crash outside - a lady driver was text messaging while driving and rear-ended the car in front as she turned into the road outside Starbucks.
Episode 500
Dick and Leo are pretty tied up and Dick has not planned anything for Episode 500. Leo suggests that listeners can send in questions to them, and if they answer correctly, listeners can send them crap.

From a Microbiologist ...
Seth, who was still a microbiology student in Provo, Utah in Episode 137 and let off by a policeman (a fellow fan of DGW) for the failed tail light in his car, has now graduated and is working at a clinical microlab at a hospital. As a microbiologist, Seth comments on the Pocket UV Disinfector (for keyboards) discussed by Leo in Episode 462 (and earlier in Episode 432). UV can definitely kill many harmful microbes, but the best practice for cleaning a keyboard is to use several anti-bacterial tools in conjunction with UV light (or direct sunlight), such as wiping it with a cloth dampened with mild bleach or hydrogen peroxide.
Leo's keyboards are so congealed with fungi and other growths that he prefers putting them through the dishwasher, which he uses for cleaning his rubber shoes as well. Dick is not having dinner at Leo's, unless it's on paper plates.

UV Disinfector, again
Leo looks for a letter and asks Dick if he's talked about the Keyboard Disinfecting UV Ray Gun, which Leo did in Episode 432 - the Pocket UV Disinfector from Market Gypsy. But this time at least Leo remembers to give credit to the letter-writer (from a PR company).
