UroClub
Handheld Portapotty
Link: UroClub
The UroClub gives true meaning to the word "portapotty". Made to resemble a golf club in appearance, it is a hollow tube which has a cap which unscrews, to help a male golfer who can't find a restroom nearby to answer the call of nature. It comes with a "privacy shield", which Dick calls the "privacy apron". It's essentially a towel which clips on to the UroClub, and has 2 extra clips for hooking itself to your pants' loops or belt.
It has the size of a 7 iron, and the capacity of over half a litre, twice the "common volume".
Todcast
A new name for TWiTLive - Todcast - for TWiT On Demand.
Tetraphobia
Evan Pedersen of Fancy Pants Gangsters has an explanation for tetraphobia (Episode 590). In Japanese, the word for 4 is "shi", which is similar in sound to the Japanese word for death. The Japanese will sometimes say "yan" for the number 4 instead. Similar situations in Chinese and Korean.

The success of the original Game Boy was such that the next new model (with the exception of the Play It Loud series which had the same specs, just cases with different colours), the Game Boy Pocket, wasn't released until 1996, which was smaller and lighter.

Portable Computer
Link: Asus
The OS is developed by Asus based on Xandros Linux, and it comes installed with applications such as Skype, Firefox, Thunderbird, Open Office. The desktop has 4 tabs: Internet, Work, Learn and Play, with individual application icons under each tab.
All of that in a 8.86" x 6.30" x 1.26" body, weighing 2 pounds. An 8GB model with a 10" screen is expected.
Eee stands for Easy to learn, work and play; Excellent internet experience; Excellent on-the-go. Leo had a good laugh at the Taiwanese Chinese again, after Episode 163, for the silly slogan.
WalkStool
After insulting the Taiwanese, Leo goes on to insult a listener. He reads a letter from Anthony Devito Junior who writes in about the WalkStool. Leo doesn't understand why he's written in and thinks it's a crappy letter. The letter might have something to do with the EZ Swany Stick Chair (Episode 425) and it wouldn't have been so awful if not for Leo's crappy Italian accent.

Freedom Keychain GPS
Bluetooth GPS Device
Link: FreedomInput Crackberry
Turn-The-Tables-Tuesday
Leo's new Blackberry Curve 8320 (Episode 422) does not come with GPS, so he goes straight to Crackberry to get the Freedom Keychain GPS, or mini GPS, a bluetooth GPS device that connects to portable devices such as PDA, laptops and cellphones including Blackberry phones via Bluetooth Version 2.0 Class II, within a range of 10m. It is not bundled with any software, but is intended to work with the software that comes with, or can be downloaded for, your individual portable device, such as Google Maps or Blackberry Maps. Having a separate GPS module also means less drain on the battery of your portable device. It comes with a car charger cable and a USB cable for charging the battery.
It uses the new SiRF Star III chipset, with 20 channels "All-In-View" Tracking. It also loads up quickly, in about 20 seconds on his Blackberry Curve 8320.
Time Scales
Jayzee, better known as Toyota Boy on DGW, is amused by the logic of the canine time scale - the dog years (Episode 420), and muses about the time scales for the housefly and the redwood tree.
1 vs 100
Henry Laporte has followed Leo's footsteps by being featured in the latest issue of Mad, in an article on the game show 1 vs 100. That gets Dick and Leo on to their favourite subject, game shows. For the story on Leo's appearance in Mad, see Episode 61.

The Lost Jingle
Someone has sent in a jingle to Dick wondering if this was the old letters jingle they were looking for (Episode 285). It's not a letters jingle at all but a gravy jingle submission. It's by Dan Lueders. This was the jingle submission Dick referred to in Episode 115, which Dick thought was played on Episode 114 but in fact wasn't - at least not on the currently available download.

Dick, Leo and Regis
Leo finds appearing on Regis & Kelly a tough job. He has to collect about 100 gadgets, fly there, and pay for a hotel room in order to make the show. Dick says that's what he has to do, too, in Canada, for that cheapskate.
No Men Involved
Vicky from Memphis, an itinerant teacher of blind children, discovered DGW all by herself. No men involved. She wants to tell Leo and the world how to get a good deal on a .Mac account.
Memphis, one of Leo's favourite songs is Walking To Memphis by Marc Cohn, muses Leo.

Franklin Rex Handheld
Early PDA
Link: The Gadgeteer
The Rex started life with Rolodex in about 1997, which sold it to Franklin Electronics, and ultimately it went over to Xircom. The size of a credit card, the Rex was an early form of the PDA, but input was difficult. It had to be done via a desktop computer, and it fit right into a PC card slot. Small screen, monochrome and no backlighting. $150 back then. The rise of the Palm Pilot ensured the Rex's demise.
Polaroid SX70
R T Cragen from Brooklyn, New York writes in to say that medical examiners still take Polaroid pictures (Episode 70), because it's difficult to manipulate Polaroid pictures.
