Cable Management
Link: keepacable.com
Keep-A-Cable hails itself as "Finally a lo-tech solution to a hi-tech problem". If you need to plug in and unplug cables from your notebook or other gadgets, Keep-A-Cable keeps the cables in place and prevents them from disappearing behind or under the desk. A cable management solution. Available in singles, strips of 5, and long strips of different lengths for you to cut.
A Red Flag
Dick's tax accountant warned him that taking 230 TWiT listeners as dependants for tax deductions and getting a tax refund 5 times his reported gross income might just raise a red flag. Dick is not worried. He's ready with his answer, "It's a bailout."
NOT AIG
AIG has had the big sign "American International Group Inc" removed from the entrance to their building in Water Street, New York City (not the iconic building in Pine Street). Read the news from NY Daily News. For a photo of the new look, go to daylife.com. Dick and Leo suggest they should have just put the words "NOT" in front of the old sign. For the record, Dick did not receive any AIG executive bonus last year.
Cable Knots
There may be a mathematical explanation of why cables seem spontaneously to entangle themselves into knots, at least according to the Department of Physics at the University of California at San Diego: here's the article. Dick has a simpler explanation. It's the cable gremlin. Whatever the reason is for these knots, Jennifer has a simple solution to the knots in the 3-carat gold necklace that Leo gave her. Just place it on the table and tap the table. That won't work with your coils of Christmas lights, though, according to the TV show MythBusters.
Tongue Twister
Leo manages not only to twist his own tongue with Keep-A-Cable, but also to get the product name Keep-A-Cable completely entangled with CableKeeper. Dyslexia strikes again. Leo blames Dick, "I speak English and he speaks Brooklyn."
When compulsive gadget-buyer Steve Miller runs out of gadgets to buy, he gets himself the Woot Bag O' Crap, which he recommends trying. Dick has something else to recommend: the Ultimate Ludwik Package. You can get one of the 5 packages left at GizWizShopping.

Taking Failure To Heart
Dick and Leo are still smarting from the letter yesterday complaining about their singing (or at least Leo's). As performers, they take any suggestion of failure to heart. They're not singing today's jingle.
TWiT Dependants
Dick wonders if he can get 0.1% of the TWiT audience as dependants for tax deductions.
Customs Regulations
Ernest Bergstrom, 63, has been a MAD fan since forever and thanks Dick for all the laughs. About Dick's parcel to Ludwik in Poland (see Episode 773), Ernest remarks that Dick and Ludwik have been lucky. The Customs Regulations provide that you may not send printed matter of any kind.
The Ultimate Ludwik Package
Apart from taking failure to heart, Dick has also taken Leo's suggestion in Episode 773 to heart. Dick has created "The Ultimate Ludwik Package", on sale at GizWizShopping. The package contains the following GizWizBiz items: the LED Cap, the Ice Cube, the Lighted Folding Pen, the Cliphanger, the USB Smart Button, something new called the Mini-Strobe, and an autographed copy of MAD. Since there are only 6 Ice Cubes left, only 6 of these packages are available, for just under $50 (with a saving of $24).

iPod Accessory - Wireless Streaming
Link: Monster Cable
Connect the base station to AC power and to your home stereo and to one of the audio inputs of your home stereo (via the mini-jack to RCA cable provided). Plug the transmitter into the iPod (which draws minimal power from the iPod), start playing and the music will be streamed by 2.4GHz wireless technology (with a bandwidth of 4 Mega-bits per second) to the base station receiver. The iPod doubles up as a remote control.
Mad Currency
Randal Schwartz, Perl expert, co-host of FLOSS and long-time fan of DGW, came across an entry on Wikipedia about fake denominations of US currency and found that the Mad currency (3-dollar bill) which Dick talked about in the past (see, e.g. Episode 121) has made its way into that entry. Dick goes on to describe the Alfred E Neuman postage stamps that Mad used to make.
Spork Cartoon
Dick and Leo mention in passing a spork cartoon which listeners have written in about. Leo says he is going to save it for the Letters Section, but naturally he forgets. While we wait for Dick and Leo's memory to come round, here's one which is pretty good, by Jakin J Waldock.
