Busy Bee
Busy Bee Ludwik Trammer is at work again. He has some ideas for Dick's site, and is going to show Dick on Go To Meeting. By the way, Giz Wiz Search now has a new .com URL: www.gizwizsearch.com.
The Joy of Gadgets
The Kodak Disc Camera (Episode 690) brings back fond memories of a strong and vibrant company for Brent [Cascamenti] from Rochester, New York, who has been working for Kodak as an electrical engineer for 27 years. Brent has been a faithful listener since Episode 1, and thanks Dick and Leo for bringing him the joy of gadgets.
Skunk Works
Brent uses the word "Skunk Works" in his letter, which Leo explains to Dick, with a little help from Wikipedia, first used by Lockheed Martin in 1938. The name has its origin in Al Capp's comic strip L'il Abner.
Dick's Thanksgiving
No small talk for Dick's party at Thanksgiving, where his pineapple upside down cake is de rigueur (in addition to the gravy of course). For more on Dick's Thanksgiving celebrations, go back to Episode 199. Whenever Dick misses his Thanksgiving fare, he can go to "Good Enough To Eat", all year round. This is also the restaurant Dick took Leo for a huge breakfast when Leo was in New York (listen to the beginning of Episode 334).
Ready for TTTT
Leo had numerous ideas for last week's TTTT (see Episode 697), but only after the recording had ended. This time, he's ready.

Sportscaster
Portable XM Radio
Link: XM-Radio-Satellite
The Sportscaster is a portable XM radio. It's not limited to sports channels, but it's called the Sportscaster probably because it's small and sporty. It's about 4.5 inches wide, less than 2 inches high and 0.75 inches deep. Comes with a Car Kit (antenna, cigarette lighter adapter and remote control). There's also a Home Kit for it.
Dick heard on 1010WINS about some guy registering the word "netcast". Leo explains.
Leo on XM
Leo is trying to get his radio show on to an XM channel.
Letters Jingle
Leo refers to the Letters Jingle writer George Wood as being from London. Wrong again!
Commercials
A listener Trey misses the commercials, and has written to Visa about supporting the show. Leo says he's turned down sponsorship offers from GM, IBM, Proctor and Gamble, but he'll accept commercials for potholes.

The LeakFrog

Call For Help
Dick and Leo have just come back from Toronto filming the latest episodes of Call For Help. Call For Help got a little help from Cali Lewis from GeekBrief who stood in as a guest host after Amber's departure.
Banana Worship
Dick thinks a "Worship-us" cruise would be a good idea, where fellow passengers on the cruise would go to worship Dick and Leo bringing along gadgets and dropping flowers on their laps. Leo thinks he's just the second banana on the show, like Ed McMahon to Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show, and he mustn't overstep the mark. Dick says they're bananas all right.
Knit Lite
Lighted Knitting Needles
Shelley Ziegler, who listens to DGW with her husband in their car on family vacations, loves Dick and Leo going off on a tangent in their shows. Being an avid knitter, she recommends the lighted knitting needles from Knit Lite. There's also the Crochet Lite.
Finally, Another Letters Jingle
George Wood from the UK has done a great letters jingle for DGW. He's a music professional, with ProMedia. He is Programming Manager for hands-on-midi software, also does mobile content for Nokia, Disney, Orange as well as composing and arranging thematic library music for TV and Radio. Check out George Wood on Promedia, Podshow, or here on Vox.
Mad Minutes Again
Leo's plusdeck2c broke down last week, and the Mad Minutes were off the air. They'll be back this week, with improved sound quality.
Keybuoy
Aaron Becker, while listening to the Key Buoy episode (Episode 149), was lifting up the Big Orange Book (BOB, on astro-physics). He heard the part where Dick and Leo gave the "consult your physician" warning, was caught off guard, his knees got weak, and he fell to the floor. There will be a TV version of the Key Buoy on Call For Help.

How much, at the same auction, did William Gaines's (aka Bill Gaines, founder of Mad) Mad Issue No.1 from his private uncirculated collection go for?
